Air Force One Pilot Annoyed President Bush Leads Passengers in Round of Applause after Each Landing

Washington - A veteran Air Force One Pilot is becoming increasingly upset that President George W. Bush chooses to applaud every landing, no matter how mundane, Underneath Politics has learned. "If it has been a bumpy flight or the weather is inclement, I appreciate my smooth landing being acknowledged by the passengers as stellar," the pilot said, under the condition of anonymity. "But getting a standing ovation every time we touch down is a bit much." President Bush even nicknamed the pilot partially because of his landing ability. "He calls me 'Stick,'" the pilot said. "Partly because I'm thin and partly because I 'stick' the landings.'" |
